5 Fashion Resolutions to Follow for 2012!
Happy first Friday of 2012! Today is one of our favorite times of the month on the 365BLOG: our monthly guest post by the lovely Crystal.

Now that 2011 is over and a week has already gone by for 2012, have you guys thought about how to achieve your resolutions? Here at 365HANGERS, we are constantly inspired by what other fashion bloggers are achieving in the blogosphere. Here are the top 5 fashion resolutions that can get just about anyone motivated to try (and start a fashion resolution ‘revolution!’).

1. ORGANIZE, ORGANIZE
Before you do any ‘soul searching’ through shopping, make sure you have enough room in your closet! Begin the new year by organizing your closet so that you can make room for those new purchases. Also, as you’re rummaging, consider donating items that you don’t think you will ever wear. Not only will you feel better about yourself, you’ll actually appreciate getting up in the morning to get dressed!

2. COLOUR YOUR LIFE
Since most of us spend our days either at school or at work, your personal life can become pretty daunting. With some pop of colour, your mood can instantly change. It’s probably only psychological, but seeing bright colours can really enhance your mood. So, why not indulge in bright colours throughout the whole year? Whether it’s through clothes or makeup, one thing for sure is that you’ll be even more eye-catching.
Bloggers: Erika Marie of Fashion Chalet incorporated her whole outfit with bodacious colours, while Ria of Ria Michelle complemented her playful, subtle look with a classic red lipstick.
365HANGERS Recommends:
Skirt by French Connection in orange, $44.00
Dress by Niteline in fuschia, $48.00
Dress by Tahari Arthur S. in floral print, $41.00

3. TAKE FASHION RISKS
If you want to take it up a notch, you must take fashion risks! Now, we’re not telling you to do a 180 on your style, but we do hope that you venture out of your comfort zone. Get a friend or your significant other to go shopping with you and tell him/her that you want to try new trends/styles so that they can help you pick out some items that are out of your ‘element’. It doesn’t hurt to try, and you may end up making one of those trends your staple look!
Bloggers: The dynamic duo, Iris and Daniel, named their fashion blog, We Have No Style, but we beg to differ! Here, they used umbrellas as a way of accessorizing their outfits while the lovely Madeline of Jean Greige is often seen complementing opposites together.

4. PERFECT YOUR SIGNATURE…STYLE
As you’re trying out all the fashion trends (and faux-pas), make sure to keep in mind which pieces and items really suit you. Whether it’s the way you part your hair or the kind of shoes you wear, minor details do make your look unique. Just because a certain look is great on someone else doesn’t mean it will suit you well. However, you won’t know for sure if a look will be great on you until you are comfortable with yourself!
Bloggers: Chanelle of The Penelope Times and Folake of Style Pantry are easily recognizable through their unique styles. Chanelle resembles Lady Gaga with her cool, round shades while Folake always glows with her natural hair!
365HANGERS Recommends:
Dress by DKNY in shimmery polka dots, $118.00
Dress by Petticoat Alley in purple, $24.00
Skirt by L.A.M.B. in edgy one zipper, $74.00

5. REMIX ORIGINALLY
What’s a resolution without being thrifty and saving money? For 2012, don’t forget that reusing and recycling are cool! While it’s great to invest in thrift pieces, don’t neglect the items that are already in your closet (that’s why you organized your closet in the first place!). What’s simple is that you don’t need to sew or take apart any of your clothing – just layer, accessorize, or complement with other pieces to make your clothes feel all new again!
Blogger: Jenny from Neon Blush is often seen in feminine pieces but we certainly love her in this vintage denim vest! Look at how she transforms just one piece into three timeless looks.
What’s your favourite fashion resolution from the lists? Do you have any that you would like to add? Remember to check out last month’s blog post on laces!
In the meantime, stay fresh, modern, and you. Would love to hear from you all!
