Celeste Hanger

Pear Pear

My name is Celeste, and I'm usually the loudest person in the room. At least, that's what I've been told. Really, I'm just honest and I always speak the truth. I can't help being so blunt; it's just my personality. You know how your friends, and sometimes even your man, will let you walk around with spinach in your teeth and not tell you? Well, that won't happen if I'm around. I'd definitely tell you, even if I didn't know you. But, that's just me.

Happy Birthday Mom

It is my first day in Phoenix. I had a good night sleep, and it is my moms birthday. I already know she wants to go shopping, so we make sure we have a good breakfast before we leave. As always, my dad is in kitchen cooking breakfast. You can’t buy a better breakfast. Eggs over easy, hashbrowns, all the bacon and sausage you can eat, and toast. As soon as I am done I jump in the shower, and pick out my multi print dress by Alice and Trixie with my blue flats. We head over to the store. My mom has a catalog in her hand with all the outfit she likes, and I just tell the salesgirl to point. My mom tries some stuff on, it fits her perfectly, and we are on to the next store. It is good to be home.

Dancing to NO music…..

Before I hit the road today to go to AZ, I have a commercial casting to go on. It is for Michelob, and they want you to do an interesting sport or activity. I had to put my thinking cap on, and I thought of doing belly dancing or Buns of Steel the workout from the 80′s. Both of those are interesting right! I decided to go with belly dancing, and I put my shaker in my purse along with a CD of selected music to dance to. I get to the casting, and everyone is either a surfer or a golfer. How boring! I am going to stand out in my skill. I put my shaker on, I go into the casting, I give him my name and information, then I ask if I could play music to audition, and he says no, but I could dance to no music if I want. And I say no. So that was it :)

I head back home to finish packing, and the next time I write I will be home with my family.  Stay tuned for some exciting family stories!!

And More Vegas…

I was so excited about coming to Vegas. I couldn’t wait to gamble and see some shows. But the real treat was the amazing food we had. The first restaurant was called Okada at the Wynn hotel. Even the tap water was good, and it had amazing atmosphere! As you enjoy this amazing food, you have a waterfall right in the middle of the restaurant, so you feel really cool and relaxed. The service was amazing as well. Next was lunch at the Bellagio. You have got to try the Chinese chicken salad with homemade wontons. Delicious! The last and definitely the best was IL Mulino at Caesars Palace Forum Shops. First of all the restaurant is in the best mall I have ever been to. As soon as you walk in there is a Marc Jacobs store. You could really do some damage here. We make it up to the third floor where the restaurant is located. We have a reservation, and we are seated immediately. As soon as we sit down, we are served fresh parmasen cheese just like in Italy. Then they give us marinated zucchini and salami the taste like beef for our bread. And to top it off we are served pruschetto compliments of the chef. We got all this before we even ordered. Amazing! Our main course was grilled seasoned Langostinos and mushroom ravioli with champagne and black truffle. I have never had anything that delicious in my life! The top I am wearing today is my favorite designer, Diane Von Furstenberg. I believe every womans closet should be full of her clothes.

ViVa Las Vegas!

I am on my second day in Vegas, and I am having a great time. Always wanted to see the Phantom and finally last night I went to see Phantom of the Opera. I wore my A.B.S. dress I got from 365Hangers with my brown satin heels, the same way I wore it when 365 shot me in it 2 months ago. The only thing different was my hair. I just got it done, so the texture was a little off to wear it big, so I tied a black lace scarf instead. It looked awesome!

Today I am going to Cirque Du Soleil, and I am going to wear a multi print mini dress from Diane Von Furstenberg, with some black patten leather heels. And my hair the same. I was going to wear my Vera Wang heels, but I need a more comfortable heel tonight so no VW :( .

So I won $125 in 5 minutes on slots and later got ripped off by the taxi here last night. This is Vegas!

DUMBSTRUCK….

DUMBSTRUCK….
I went to the taping of a new show on BET called Mom Myself and I. The host are Tischina Arnold from the show Martin, and Gabrielle Beauvia from the Jamie Foxx show. Tischina looks amazing, and Gabrielle is just beautiful and I think she is my height 5’11″, I walked past her and we were eye to eye. She told me I was pretty and I was so shocked she complimented me I didn’t have a chance to compliment her right back, so I just said thank you and ran away.
Anyway, the premise of the show is single women, married women, rich women, poor women taking care of their kids and family, and for some eye candy they have a male host to give his point of view. It is going to be a really good show, and they were so generous they gave everyone in the audience a gift bag when we left. I already used the oil sheen that was in there to hook up my fro. I even met some new friends. Charlisa from North Carolina who loves Hanna Montana is totally adorable.
I like meeting new people.  May this is what keeps me working as an actress.  Life never gets dull and there are always new people to meet.  I not only like to meet them but also learn from them.  They all have different stories and it’s amazing to hear them.  Most of all, i learn new fashions, new looks, and new trends from meeting people from different walks of life.

Richard Dreyfuss or Jennifer Lopez!

I took an acting class today. And I actually had a great time. The coach has been on a ton of sitcoms, so it was taught by someone who is actually out there and auditioning. It is a three hour class from 7pm to 10pm, and when you arrive he has chips and salsa, chocolate chip cookies, gummy bears and water for everybody. What a nice touch! He explains to us how he is going to make us better audition-ers, which is awesome because it really is an acquired skill.

They say Richard Dreyfuss was a horrible auditioner, and it took him years to get a job, whereas Jennifer Lopez is an awesome audition-er, and see where she is at today. So he breaks the class up into two groups. One group will do a commercial audition, and second group will do a theatrical audition, and we will be judged and there will be a winner. I wanted to join the commercial group because that is what I am used to, but he gave me the theatrical. I end up blowing it out of water, and winning my category. I definitely have to stick to this class.

If you are in town and thinking about acting, I recommend this class!

Wardrobe Commitment

Do you know Marc Jacobs designed his first collection in 1986. No wonder the 80′s bits are seen in his designs. This super versatile Marc Jacobs top I am wearing today will go with any bottoms you have in your wardrobe. I can think of so many ways I can use this top from work to lunch with friends or even beyond. Lately I have made a commitment with my wardrobe that I will add pieces that can be used in multiple ways and not just one so with adding very few pieces, I am able to create more looks. I think we all make commitments with our wardrobe. Add more size 2′s and less 8′s…hahaha! So where was I? Yes, Marc Jacob! DO YOU HAVE YOUR FAVORITE MARC JACOBS PIECE THAT YOU LIKE TO SHARE?? TELL ME ABOUT IT.

ESPRESSO LOVER!!

In my world, there’s never a boring moment……..

So I was embarrassed for the first time the other day at my job. I am promoting the Espresso machine by Nepresso, and we have to ask people as they are walking by if they are espresso lovers? That day I was working with a girl from London, and it took me all of five minutes to start talking like her. Now with my new found English accent I went about my job, until I ran into Joe Jackson’s little brother. I said “hello, are you an espresso lover” He turned around and said “am I a special lover? is it going to be at your place or mine so I can show you! I WAS SHOCKED!!!! I just started laughing hysterically! I didn’t know what to do or say, and I just laughed for almost a good five minutes until he finally walked away. This guy was older than my dad. But let me tell you, he had a lot of energy.

I wonder how many embarrassing yet funny work moments happen everyday……..huh???

The Hero Awards

A few days ago the Hero Awards aired on TV. I was lucky enough to be able to go and I remembered what a crazy day that was for me. I had an all-night shoot the night before and hadn’t gotten in until early in the morning. But, that was my first Hero Awards and I was determined to go.

It was a black tie affair, which I was excited about because I love dressing up. That day I was so worried about not getting any sleep because I can’t go to bed when the sun is coming up; it just feels unnatural to me. I like it to be pitch dark while I sleep, otherwise I feel like I’m taking a nap and never feel truly rested. Luckily, I was able to get a few hours of sleep without feeling like an insomniac.

A Day of Castings

Working on the show Castle today, and then I had a casting for a hair campaign. I had a 6:30 a.m. call time for the show, and I am playing a nanny. They want me to have a West Indian look, so I am going to wear a scarf. I was so exhausted, I didn’t even want to wear makeup.

I made it to set at 6 a.m., and even though they have an omlette bar and churizo and eggs, all I get is some fruit. When I got to wardrobe to get confirmation on my clothes, they ask me if I am playing one of the beautiful girls. I tell them I am the nanny. She looks at what I wore to set and approves it, but asks the other girl playing a nanny to change into a uniform. I don’t think she was happy about that.

I get some tea before we start shooting. We start shooting around 8:30, which is awesome, because the earlier we start the more they can get done. I only had until 4 p.m. to make it to the casting. I was done in about an hour and I was able to chill until lunch, which was Mongolian BBQ.

After lunch I was able to leave. I went into a bathroom in an office building to change, put on makeup, and do my hair. I am so happy I had access otherwise I would of had to do it in my car. I made it to Beverly Hills and there are only three girls in front of me. They take my Polaroid and I sit down to have the stylist look at my hair. She tells me my hair is amazing and I am so flattered because my hair is finally getting healthy again. She ask me how tall I am and for a headshot. I hope I get it. I head home for a beer and a nap, and to get ready for the promo job this weekend.

Common Sense

I am on my third day of the Nepresso promotion, and if it keeps going like this I am going to look like Alec Wek by the end of this event. My feet and forehead have already gotten about five shades darker. I don’t even have to wear makeup right now. It would be the wrong color anyway.

The other thing that is killing me are the shoes they gave us to wear. It’s like they came from the store Torture R US. One of the girls had her skin coming off on one of her toes and a boil on the other foot. Can you believe the first day of the promo they actually wanted us to wear heels? We got them to change it to flats. But even the flats were out of control.

Today was the final day, and I went straight home to eat and rest before I had to go to a casting at Aqua. I really didn’t want to go, but I believe in going to all my castings because you never know what could happen. In this case I could have stayed home. I made it to the casting and there were already about ten girls waiting outside and twenty girls waiting inside. As soon as I get inside I recognize two models from previous jobs; we hugged each other and said hello. They had already been there twenty minutes and were ready to leave until I said, why don’t we call them first. One of the girls had the number and she called. Can you believe the guy who answered told us we should all have manicures and pedicures and not to bring our boyfriends. That was a wrap!

We all got out of there so fast, we left some wind. There were guys breaking their neck trying to find out where we were going. For now, I know even with auditions, you have to use common sense.

Your Daily Expresso

Today is the launch party for the promo job I was hired for. I had no idea how elegant it was going to be to promote espresso machines. They told us they wanted us to wear skirts and cute tops, but I had no idea they were going to provide the whole outfit including the heels.

They had us wear orange iridescent mini-skirts that were especially designed for us. They took the promotional T-shirts and cut those into funky little tops and gave us black leather heels from Aldo. The outfit was cute. And when I put on the heels, I thought I was really cute, until two hours later when I realized I was wearing shoes that were one size to small. I had four more hours to go. I wished for my feet to go numb.

In spite of this wardrobe malfunction, the party was amazing! There were top chefs from across the country that prepared the food, including a fourteen-year-old chef who’s had his own catering company since he was ten. He made cappuchino cotton candy for the party. The owner of Coffee Bean was there with his girlfriend and the host of Food and Wine magazine attended.

We found out while we there that George Clooney is a spokesmodel for the company. He wasn’t there, but hopefully next time. It was an amazing event! I was so happy to be a part of it. If you are looking for an amazing espresso machine, come see me in Santa Monica this coming weekend.

Too Much Skin

I did a Miller Lite commercial today and the story line was themed around the colors for the New Orleans Saints and Dallas Cowboys. So, when you think of beer commercials you think sexy right? So I went through my closet and picked out my sexiest clothes in those colors. I didn’t realize how much I had. One top I found still had the price tag on it, and I know I bought it about four years ago. My friend Deanna gave me these black Daisy Dukes, so I paired those with a fitted black T shirt and some ballerina slippers. It looked really cute or so I thought.

Before I left, I made sure none of my “parts” were hanging out, but I guess the drive there made my shorts ride up because once I got to set, the crew was really nice and I didn’t know why. The caterer wanted to take me on vacation and all the men would wave, and smile, and say hello. I thought I was really charming them! Then I sat down with another actor and that’s when he told me, MY BUNS WERE OUT!

Now that I think about it, I remember a girl saying “EWE” after I stood up. Oh well, what can you do? Next time, I will only wear those at night. I ended up having a really good time on the shoot. The food was awesome, the crew was awesome, and there were some really cool actors as well. I can’t wait for the next one!

It’s Not A Competition

I had an audition today for the California Lottery. The premise of the new commercials is, don’t throw away your tickets because you have a second chance to win.

So, the whole focus is around a trash can, and the girls they are casting are the hot sexy girls that are on a date with the trash can. We auditioned two at a time, and we are supposed to be in a limo with the trash can having a party. In the auditioning process, the rule is whenever you go in with another person they become your friend not your competition. Why did I have to get the girl that obviously has no female friends. The energy she brought to the casting was so awful. Not only did she ignore me, she tried to hump the trash can and she was throwing her head around so much her earring came out, which I had to call her out on right in the middle of the audition.

Oh well!! On another note,  I got so inspired from watching So You Think You Can Dance last Wednesday, I am going to take a jazz class at The Edge Saturday. I already have my dance outfit picked out. I am going to wear my baggy black sweats, my fitted red bellydancing top, and my pink and white dance shoes. I can’t wait!

My friend Deanna took me rollerskating on the beach Sunday. I wish I would have stayed with it when I was younger because I could have been in the Olympics. Also, at some point, I want to go to the spa. Even though it is summertime hot right now, I try to treat myself to a spa day once a week. I put on my bathing suit, bring my conditioner and exfoiliation cream, and I sit in the sauna for an hour. My skin and hair feel so good afterwards. I even bring a book to read. Have you ever tried this before? And, by the way, I just go to my local gym to do this.
