DIY: Beauty Products

Bookmark this page, just in case you ever run out of any products before your monthly shopping trip to restock on whatever is in your bathroom. You should have most of the ingredients needed. Convenience is not the only thing we love about these remedies. They’re also almost all natural. You’ll really get a chance to have a fresh look at your hair, skin and beauty.

Facial Mask:

What you need:
1 cup plain yogurt

What you do:
Wash your face thoroughly with or without a mild cleanser. Pat dry. Cover your whole face with plain yogurt using your fingertips. Let it dry for 15-20 minutes. Wash your face with warm water and pat dry. If your skin is generally dry, use whole fat yogurt to gain extra moisture. If your skin is generally oily, use a low-fat yogurt.

Microdermabrasion Facial:

What you need:
1 tsp. extra-virgin cold pressed coconut oil
½ tsp. baking soda

What you do:
Rub the coconut oil and baking soda together in your palms. Massage in circles on your face before getting into the shower. Do not combine with any other facial skin care products. This will leave your skin soft as a baby’s bottom!

Clarifying Shampoo:

What you need:
Organic dish soap (really!)

What you do:
Apply and lather into your hair as you would with a regular shampoo. Really work it into your scalp to wipe out all of the grease and build up on your hair shafts. It will restore your hair’s natural shine and movement. It’s ultra soft, too! Make sure you rinse well. Use your regular shampoo if you’d like afterwards. Condition as normal. Just make sure your dish soap is organic because you don’t want to add any harmful chemicals carried in other products.

Body Scrub:

What you need:
4-5 tbsp. of lemon juice
3 cups of (raw) sugar
1 cup of olive oil

What you do:
I recommend using a loofah for this application. Scoop a generous amount on to your loofah and wash your body in circles. This will exfoliate your skin and repair any dry skin. This is the key to having a healthy glow.

Facial/Body Moisturizer:

What you need:
Olive or coconut Oil

What you do:
Simply after washing and drying your body and/or face, apply your choice of oil and rub it into your skin. If there is any excess that doesn’t absorb into your skin within a couple of minutes or so, wipe away with a clean cotton towel. This is excellent because it’s cheap, will not clog your pores, does not contain any chemicals and will rejuvenate your skin.

I really like this facial mask with Plain Yogurt. My ski definitely need extra moisture (living in desert:)) I would like to share my recipe of Organic homemade face Wash & Mask. You will need only 3 ingredients: Old Fashioned Oatmeal – 1 1/2 handful Organic Almonds – 1 handful Organic Whole Milk – 1/2 cup Place all of the ingredients in a blender and blend it on “low” for 10 -15 seconds.Take a small amount and gently wash your face with it. It will even wash your make-up off :). Make sure that the rest amount that is left to place it into a glass container and keep it in the refrigerator. Research shows that: Oatmeal – helps to restore natural balance of moisture in the skin, absorbs impurities and gently exfoliates. Organic Almonds – help to remove impurities, dark spots and fine lines. Organic Whole Milk – Lactic acid in milk is known to remove dead skin cells, and help to rejuvenate the skin. TY!
