Sometimes I can feel a moment forming on the other side of my lens, and I wait patiently with my focus drawn for the moment to materialize, whether it be a slip of a smile, a certain gaze, or some small gesture. Though photography’s ability to instantly capture a scene burdens it with the truth, the reality is that there is always some sort of posed performance happening. It is in candid photos that our humanity seeps out, unguarded, uninhibited, and unashamed.

Ever since MGMT appeared on the music scene with their whimsical “Electric Feel,” we’ve seen an interest in “tribal” inspired patterns, designs, and elements that are perfect for summer.
