Last night was amazing. First of all, Matt’s grandparents were absolutely adorable. Secondly, Matt’s mother showed up looking a little stronger than the last time I saw her. She shined in a floor length, cream-colored, Ralph Lauren dress. She looked like an angel. Thirdly, THERE WAS ITALIAN FOOD. Need I say more?

The live jazz band kept the evening alive and Matt and I enjoyed a little dancing. I literally met his entire family: Cousins, uncles, aunts, second cousins—everyone was there.

Matt wore a crisp black Armani suit with a white dress shirt and skinny black tie. Always a good look for him! His family seemed to think that the two of us looked like an old-fashioned classic Hollywood couple. They kept making us pose near the pool, dance floor, or rose garden and snapping a million pictures. I guess I can say my dress was a success?

Seeing Matt’s family only made me like him more. They were so sweet and funny and full of life! Everything I hope for in a family, they had!

His grandparents shared a spotlight dance towards the end of the evening. It was unbelievably genuine. Hopefully I’ll be that lucky in my life to find a love like that. Afterwards, we moved from the canvas covered dance floor, set up in the grandparents’ backyard, to a small hill further up on the property. I wasn’t sure what was going to happen, but then a fireworks show began! It was amazing and so romantic.

Matt held me close. After a few red fireworks sounded, he looked at me, then he kissed me. It flattered me that he wasn’t embarrassed to do so in front of his family. Jack made me think that there was no hope in finding a decent guy, but Matt has changed everything.

In the car ride home I finally brought up the topic of my departure. I mean, I’m leaving in a few days and I can’t expect him to keep away from other women even if I’m only gone for a month. He looked at me and told me that he couldn’t ask that of me either. He said, “Go have a good time in Italy and when you get back, if you would like to be…I’d like you to be my girlfriend.”

Well, that leaves things wide open. It’s honestly a relief! Maybe I’m a commitment phobe. I don’t know, but I do know I don’t want to worry about a waiting boyfriend while I’m in Italy. I already have dinner dates scheduled with some of the best looking men in the world! I’m too young to deprive myself. Maybe that’s too Carrie Bradshaw of me.

Now I’m off to a business meeting with some fellow film people. We’re trying to get a business to sponsor us and fund a short film we’re trying to make. I’m going to wear this great Kenneth Cole skirt and blazer set because it makes me look and feel like a strong businesswoman. You have to look powerful to feel capable of holding power and if I’m going to help produce this short film…I’ve got to win these sponsors over! Wish me luck!
