Road Trip!
There’s not much to say about last night except that Matt looked amazing in a crisp suit that had to be purchased in one of those obscure/expensive/amazing Italian designer boutiques. The fashion was great. A lot of people had vintage designer clothes which made the whole experience that more authentic!
I’m currently listening to The Weepies. Their new album “Hideaway” is incredible! I listened to their last album on repeat when I was touring Europe with my high school choir. Every time I hear, “Take It From Me,” I envision the streets of Prague; and when I hear “Painting by Chagall” I can see the Austrian hills. It’s funny how certain scents, materials, sounds, and tastes can trigger a slew of memories. Gotta love it! There is this one lip-gloss I found in an old purse the other day. I opened it and the smell of it put me right back to when I was 16 staying overnight in a hotel room in Boston. The memories just flooded in with this album!
Well, I’m all for making new memories! My best friend James called me and invited me on a two-night road trip up to Berkeley, California. Why not? So, tomorrow morning, a few of us are going up there. It should be fun—a change of scenery at the very least! Now, one-day-warning to pack for a two night trip would usually trip me out (especially with how busy I am today), but I figure a little pre-game thinking and I’ll know just what to throw in my bag. I’ve got this great, tan, leather, D & G duffel. It’s small and convenient, but fits a surprising amount!
Ok. I’ve got to pack later. On to the next event!
Tonight I am attending an award ceremony for the Italian department at my university. I recently declared an Italian major along with my Film major so I think it is important to attend events and befriend the professors. Plus, the Italian department is better than the Fashion department when it comes to style! I got a letter inviting me personally to the event, but I do not know if I’m going to get an award or anything of that sort. I’m just excited to eat the food, sit with my favorite professors, look at the fashions of the attendees, and mingle with other students studying the language.
I’ve got this unbelievably beautiful Max Azria dress in the same color and style of the dress Angelina Jolie wore to the 2009 Canne’s Film Festival. It’s so beautiful and flattering to a woman’s body! It makes me feel like a movie star of Angelina’s caliber. I am looking forward to entering and, hopefully, making one jaw drop from the beauty of this dress. It’s airy, it’s color makes me look tan, and wearing some brown gladiator sandals is both comfortable and fitting for the look! Success! I’m going to wear very simple jewelry as to not overpower the beautiful neckline of the dress. Since I’m going for the whole Grecian thing, again, my earrings from Italy will be perfect. They are made of dark brown metal and are two intertwined serpents. They remind me of Medusa, but not overpowering in that they are stud-earrings. I must go!
Ciao!
