The Dish
How would you describe your personality?
Eccentric. Honest. Humorous. I’m an extreme optimist with a love for intellectuals, movies, travel, music, and fun!
List in detail 3 major events in your life?
Obviously, my parent’s divorce. It sounds ridiculous, I’m sure, but growing up my only real fear was that my parents would divorce. Well, my parents did divorce.
I had it really rough growing up. I was voted “nicest classmate” every year, but that didn’t stop the bully and terrorizing. In my gut, I knew high school would be better! No more braces, cuter boys, football games, etc.
The last and most recent event is a little happier! Due to my parents divorce, I was craving an escape. So! At 17, I planned a trip to Italy to get away from…EVERYTHING! Broken friendships, broken family, broken hearts. Best time of my life by far. I wrote in my journal everyday, ate pasta everyday (and lost weight), went on more dates in one week than I had in my whole life, and dated the sexiest men I had ever seen in my life.
What are your talents?
I’ve been singing and dancing since I was 2! I paint, I’m a creative writer, I’m a decent photographer, and I play acoustic guitar to assist with my singing. Pretty much anything creative!
Do you have any pets?
I have a white toy poodle named Bella and a brown, black and white rat terrier named Biff. I, also, have a gray and white cat with big green eyes named Kitsia (keech-uh)..Ukrainian for “Cat.”
Name 3 of the funniest things that has happened to you?
Ok. My family knows I was born a flirt. I’ve been trying to steal my older sister’s boyfriends since I was 2 1/2. There’s pictures!
When I was 14, I was in a state production of “Annie” playing an orphan. It was closing night when I spotted him–beautiful, probably 15, and probably prepubescent, but I didn’t know the difference. I watched him as we started our dance routine. That’s when my little orphan skirt fell to my feet. Yay! Luckily, I had bike shorts on underneath, but that didn’t make it any less humiliating. Of course I continued on like nothing had happened, but I’m pretty sure my face was quite literally fire red. Good times.
2. When I was in Italy in 2008, I took my mother for the first 10 days to get her mind off her divorce. We were walking along my favorite Florentine street when an attractive, well-dressed Italian man approached my mother.
“Is this your daughter?” he said.
My mother nodded.
“Nice job!!” and he proceeded to give her a high five.
Passing tourists chorused in laughter. I still laugh about it. Kind of disturbing though.
3. As if my life hadn’t been traumatic enough, listen to this story! In high school, I would constantly use our breaks in choir class for bathroom breaks because I hated wasting my lunch half hour. So one day, as I was leavning the restroom….I was walking, arms swinging as they do for most people, and suddenly I felt something in my hand. It all happened so fast, but essentially I had cupped some boy’s…er…um… “groin area.” He, who was walking quickly up behind me, ran right into my swinging (and apparently cupped) hands. I just laughed and said excuse me, but too soon after I joked out loud, “Or should I say, ‘You’re welcome!’” Pretty sure he heard me.
Yeah. I’m normal.
What do you like to do on weekends or for fun?
Usually concerts, parties, and going out to eat! BUT! If I’m tired from the school/work week, I usually enjoy hitting up the local cafes for some writing and reflection or going to the beach!
Do you go to school?
Yes. I’m technically a first year, but academically I’m a sophomore. I’m a film major with a minor in Italian Language.
What is your profession?
Well, my STUDENT job is as a student assistant to the director of the Study Abroad office. I give speeches and presentations on studying abroad and student travel along with the usual paper and emailing work.

What is your zodiac sign?
Aries
Do you believe what they say about your zodiac sign?
I am firey and passionate! A lot of what they say about our personalities are true!
Do you believe what horoscopes say?
Sometimes. I usually read them after the day has occurred so I can see if what they predicted actually happened. Otherwise your going subconsciously connect everything in your day to your horrorscope and make it real. That’s not authentic!
