There’s Nothing Fashion Can’t Fix
Yesterday’s meeting went very well. There’s nothing I love more than talking about traveling (after fashion of course). I covered everything from the hottest clubs in Firenze (that’s Italian for Florence) to the best gelateria’s in Roma (Rome). I also talked about the fashion in Italy. It’s such a great place to find accessories, which in many cases can make or break your outfit. In the open-air market in Florence I found some amazing scarves, vintage jewelry, belts, and purses. The best part is, it can make an old outfit…NEW again!
We talked a lot about what to pack and it reminded me that I’m leaving for Italy soon and haven’t even considered what to wear. I already have a date with Filippo in Florence that I need to plan for. Since I’ll be living four people to a dorm, I’m only allowed one suitcase. It just means that I have to pack really smart.
After the meeting, I curled up on the couch with a fashion magazine and some tea. Relaxation is a daily must for me. I need to have at least an hour to myself, to let my brain calm down. There’s usually nothing a fashion magazine can’t fix. I’m loving the bright colors of summer and great prints used in this season’s designs.
I got a text from Matt last night while I was reading my magazine. He wants to meet me today at a cute little Italian café for gelato. He’s very creative with his date ideas. Even though I’m leaving soon, I’m impressed that he is still going strong, trying to court me; most guys would back off and wait until I returned. I haven’t had a boyfriend since high school and it kind of sucks that the one guy I’m really into comes along right before I leave the country for a month. Not that I’m trying to get tied down right before I leave…I’ve got things to experience in Italia and part of that is the dating scene. Dating there is not like dating in California, which is pretty much, slim to non-existent. This Matt-scenario has been the first real dating I’ve done since last summer in Italy.
How sad, right?
