I met Matt at the café. He sat at one of the sidewalk tables with a single yellow rose lying diagonally across it. Yellow roses are my favorite, but how did he know! Maybe he got if off my Facebook or maybe from a friend or maybe it was just a wild guess…I don’t care. It was amazingly romantic.

He stood up when I approached the table. He wore Ray Ban aviators, a white V-neck with vintage black jeans and some dirtied white Jack Purcell tennis shoes. He looked like a rock star. He always does.

Before I could sit down he handed me the rose and complimented my outfit (I wonder if he knows how much I like it when he notices what I’m wearing). Before I could even think of what gelato flavor I wanted to get, a big bowl of cantaloupe-flavored gelato arrived at the table. I told him how coincidental that he’d ordered my favorite, but he told me that I’d mentioned it before and he remembered.

Wow. I didn’t think I could find a man of this caliber around here. I’ve only ever experienced this kind of romance in Italy.

We sat and talked for three—count them…THREE—hours.

Yeah, you know you’ve found a good one when you can sit in the same place and have good conversation for three hours straight.

Afterwards, he walked me to my car and kissed me passionately. He lingered at my lips and asked when he could see me again.

I probably should put more space between us, but I can’t help the fun I’m having with him. It’s too much of a good thing to push it away just yet. There’s an engagement party for a friend of mine and I’d like him to be my date. It’s a formal event and he always looks great at formal events.

Tonight I’m meeting a bunch of my girlfriends that are back from universities across the country. We’re going to a club opening in Orange County. It’s another good opportunity for me to dress up. I’m going to wear this sexy, off-white, Venetian Lace mini-dress by Chetta B. Matt wouldn’t want to know I went to a club wearing such a beautiful dress because I’m sure to get attention with this hot number.

We’re hitting up a nice restaurant on the beach in Newport before we head to the club, so I’ll take some nice T-strap sandals to wear to dinner before the club. I can’t wait to catch-up with the girls about Matt and see what they have going on since they left for school last fall!
