I'm Mia Schiano
Have you ever met someone who grew up with two very different cultures and currently lives in a country that is not her own? Well, now you have! My name is Mia Schiano, and I’m a Japanese-German graduate student currently living in Los Angeles.
I was raised speaking both languages simultaneously and only picked up English when I was 8, so I’m not too sure what my native language is. I have lived in over four different countries, Belgium being for the longest, but I have to say that I love being here in California. Nothing beats the weather and the palm trees. *wink*
Like most other girls, I’m obsessed with fashion. I try to keep up with the latest trends and keep my closet up-to-date. My love for fashion began because of my father. He constantly took me shopping when I was younger and still tells me if an item doesn’t look good on me. When it comes to fashion, I believe what he says. I always plan out my outfit a day before; it’s a daily ritual. I try to look my best for whatever I have planned for the day because you never know who you might meet! After all, meeting new people and making new friends is only a one-time opportunity.
Other than my love for fashion, I love dining out and exploring restaurants around the LA area. While I can’t say that I’m a cook, I always have a big appetite and enjoy trying out new cuisines. My favorite chef of all time is my Mom; no one can make Japanese rice curry like she can! I also enjoy playing the piano and am always up for a game of tennis.
So, enough about me, what about you? What are your hobbies? What is your fashion taste like? Nice to meet you!
