How would you describe your personality?

I’m an outgoing, funny, and bubbly person that doesn’t like to take life too seriously sometimes. I’m 23 years old and I think I act my age; I get down to business when I have to and I play when I can. I used to be extremely shy and pessimistic, but my move to LA and living out on my own has kind of changed my perspective on life. I’m a much happier person than I was before.

How would you describe your family?
Although I have a small family (mom, dad and a cat), all of us together is like one big clash of cultures. My father is German, my mother is Japanese, and in our household we speak three different languages, even sometimes in one sentence. My father and I speak German/English, my mother and I have always spoken Japanese, and both of my parents speak Japanese to each other. Because my parents live in Germany, I don’t get to see them very often (once a year) but we try to either email or talk on the phone every day. We have a great family bond, and I really wish that they lived here in the US.

List in detail 3 major events in your life?
1) My move from Boston to Los Angeles was definitely a major event in my life. I flew home to Germany for the summer and had my father help me move. It was such a scary time of my life. I was afraid of all the things that could go wrong and worried about everything. I didn’t want to leave my friends in Boston behind, and was in denial for a while. I was nervous about starting a new chapter in my life. However once I got here and I started to build on a regular routine, my anxiety disappeared and I no longer have a pessimistic attitude.

2) My acceptance to USC for graduate school was a life changer. USC was my dream school and definitely my reach school, and quite frankly I didn’t expect to get in. I studied day and night for the GREs (took it twice!) and spent weeks writing and correcting my application essays. I found out that I got in when I was working full time at an office, and I just let out a big burst of happiness. I cracked open a bottle of Heineken and started drinking at 11am. I wasn’t very productive that day in the office *wink*

3) Another major event was the day I started modeling, which isn’t all that long ago. I met a photographer who saw my potential to model and we went out for my first-ever shoot. I was surprised to find myself completely comfortable in front of the camera, and even though I didn’t have as many ideas in poses, I truly enjoyed it. I learn and feel more comfortable every time I go on a shoot, and at the end of the day I can’t wait for the next one. I feel like I found something in life that I’m truly passionate about and enjoy doing.

What are your talents?
Other than my love and passion for modeling, I enjoy playing tennis and the piano. I used to be a hardcore doubles player in high school and played in multiple competitions all over Europe. I’ve been playing the piano for almost 16 years and see it as a stress reliever. Unfortunately, I don’t have piano access anymore… someone get me a piano! I’m also really good at video games and will beat anyone in Mario Kart any day.

Do you have or have had any pets?
My parents have a stray cat that just kind of made itself at home, but I do not have any pets here in LA.

If so, what were their names?
My cat at home is Mii-chan, “Meow Meow” in Japanese.

Name 3 of the funniest things that has happened to you?
I’m so clumsy, funny things happen to me all the time.
1) Back at Emerson College for my undergrad, I had a crush on a guy in my class and I tried really hard to get him to notice me. As I was leaving the building one day, he turned the corner and walked into the building. He opened the door, walked in, my eyes follow him, and then, our eyes met! I let out a big fat smile and he smiles back! Then when I turn back around to leave the building, I smashed my face on to the glass door and ended up with a bloody nose. Sad thing was that he saw the whole thing and laughed at me… Well, at least he thought I was a funny person…

2) When I was about 6, I lived in a hilly neighborhood in Tokyo, and my mom and I would always take walks around the area. I remember coming to a small pathway and as my mom and I were crossing the road, a small truck that didn’t see us screeched to a stop and apologized to my mom. As a little kid, I stuck my tongue out at the driver and continued walking, and then when I turned around, I walked right into a pole and hit my head.

3) Just a couple days ago, I was doing photoshoots on the beach and my photographer was giving me art direction from far away. It was hard to hear him but I just kind of went along with it and gave him several poses. As I was striking a hot/sexy pose on the wet part of the sand, a huge wave splashed on to me and I ended up falling on the ground and got my skirt all wet and dirty, not to mention it was a white skirt!

What do you like to do on weekends or for fun?

My weekends are always different. I could spend an entire weekend chilling on a couch with some friends and watching movies, or I could be bar hopping and getting myself in trouble somewhere around Hollywood. I spent last weekend doing photoshoots on the beach.

Do you go to school?
Yes, and it’s probably one of the smartest things I have ever decided to do.

What is your profession?

Other than being a full-time student , my profession is to be happy and be myself. After I’m done with my Master’s, I hope to become a manager/producer in the television industry, or perhaps at a company for branded entertainment.

Are you single? Dating?  Married? In a relationship?
I am single, and trying to keep it that way (until the right man comes along, of course!)

Describe Men in 3 word?
Well, every person is described differently; some are wonderful and some are just annoying. Let’s see, I can’t really describe any man in three words, but I can think of three words that I would like to see in my man.

  • Protective/Caring
  • Romantic
  • Humorous

Can’t live with them. Can’t live without them!

Have you ever had a broken heart?
Not until recently. I was a mess.

Have you ever fallen in love? How many times?
I think I have… I had strong feelings for a man that I have been dating for a while, and once it fell apart and crashed to the ground, I realized that these strong feelings were emotions that I have never felt before. I was so infatuated with this man, and he broke my heart. So, yes, I think that is what the meaning of love is; a crash and burn.

How did you get over a broken heart?
I honestly don’t think I’m still over my broken heart, but I try not to think about him and stay away from anything that reminds me of him. I also write a lot of my thoughts down in a diary and try to keep it to myself, but sometimes I can’t help it but to go to my mom and ask her for her advice.

How would you describe the dating scene in LA?
It’s hard! Where are you supposed to meet people?? I don’t want to go to some hole-in-the-wall bar and pick up my next man, or go to a nightclub and start boyfriend hunting. One of the reasons why my father bought me a convertible is for me to meet some rich man during traffic in LA! That’s the only time you’re bored, so why not kill time and talk to the hottie next to you!

What TV character or personality do you most identify with?
I think I’m like Rachel in Friends. I rely heavily on my friends and have a close bond with my daddy.

Name three of your favorite TV shows?
Friends, Project Runway, and America’s Next Top Model. I also really like Scrubs, Top Chef, Make Me a Supermodel, The Soup, The Colbert Report.

Name 3 of your favorite artist?
Bob Marley, Oasis, The Beatles

What  decade would you live in and why?
I would have loved to experience the 70s and believe in the whole “Love & Peace” era. Everyone seemed so much happier. Honestly, I’m quite content with my time era. I don’t think I would change a thing.

What is your zodiac sign? Do you believe what they say about your zodiac sign?
I’m a Capriocorn, yay December babies! I’m not too much of a believer when it comes to zodiac signs, I just view it as a fun thing.

Do you believe what horoscopes say?
I will only believe the ones I want to believe. If I don’t like what it says, I would somehow overanalyze it and make it into a positive outlook.

Do you read your monthly or daily horoscope?
Of course! I have to know what to look out for!
