Inspiration from your Friends
I loved the movie yesterday, it was so funny. I’m late, but if you haven’t seen The Hangover you should! It’s so hilarious, my cheeks were hurting. I couldn’t stop laughing. If you’re feeling down, this movie will definitely cheer you up! A lot of crazy things happened to them on their trip to Vegas. You have to see all the crazy and insane experiences they go through. The ensemble of actors in the film is just perfect; they are so funny together and it was perfectly cast. It gave me inspiration to take a trip with my girlfriends and embark on some fun adventures, though not as crazy as the movie, for sure.
My best friend from Portugal arrived today. I couldn’t wait to see her. We’ve been friends since we were three years old; she’s like my sister and I can’t wait to show her around Los Angeles!!
Going to LAX is always an adventure. It’s always so crowded, and there is always so much traffic. On my way there, the traffic was stopped and there were paparazzi everywhere taking pictures of the car in front of me. It’s really crazy to see the paparazzi mania in person. They get right in front of the car and start snapping pictures and filming non-stop. All you see is flashes. That’s probably why you usually see celebrities wearing sunglasses, that’s the only way you could survive the flash madness.
Being a celebrity definitely has a lot benefits, but being in the limelight can definitely be blinding (literally)!!! From the lines of limousines, to the paparazzi at every corner, you definitely know that you’re in LA!!
I spotted my friend Laura and she looked so good in her dark denim jeans and Calvin Klein white top, and not the least bit exhausted after a 13-hour flight. With the flying and 8-hour jet-lag, I’m sure she’s ready to shop!!! I meant rest and then shop. LOL She’s dying to see all the clothes at 365hangers; she’s always raving about the clothes on the website. I can’t wait to show her around town too; Melrose avenue is a haven for Shopaholics!!!
After some needed rest, I’m taking her to dinner. We’re going to one of my favorite Italian restaurants. When you need some quiet time and relaxiation, Il Cielo does the job. It has this outside garden area, that is just charming; you can eat outside and enjoy the amazing selection of fresh pasta and salads and very yummy desserts.
Me and Laura looked through my closet to figure out what we should wear tonight. I tell her I’m feeling a dress again. Laura knows about my passion for dresses, but convinces me to switch it up and wear something different. I decided on the next best thing: shorts. I picked these comfy, but stylish black silk shorts by Max Studio and paired them with an equally comfortable chiffon silk blouse by Nanette Lepore. I felt dressy, but not too overdone. Great choice Laura! I picked her outfit, and, of course, I figured a dress would be perfect. My silk pleated dress by Robert Rodriguez will make her fit right in with the LA crowd. Robert Rodriguez has some of the most beautiful and feminine dresses, love his designs!!
It’s so fun to get ready with your girlfriends. You get to share make-up and hair tips. Laura tells me she uses the lash curler after she applies mascara, which, according to her really brings out your lashes. It really does, love it! Make sure to wait a couple of minutes, until the mascara dries, then curl your lashes again, you’ll notice a difference. See, you always get to learn something new!!
I’m so hungry, I can’t wait to eat. I can already smell the bread!!
